Move beyond memorising muscles and truly understand the bodies in front of you

Across this 50 Hour Anatomy in Action Yoga Teacher Training, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of how the body moves, adapts and responds within yoga practice. You’ll explore anatomy, biomechanics, fascia, breath and movement through a practical lens, learning how to apply this knowledge directly to your teaching rather than simply collecting information.

You won’t just study anatomy. You’ll experience it, embody it and learn how to recognise it in real time. Each module builds intentionally on the last, helping you connect anatomical theory with movement, sequencing and intelligent class design. Through movement explorations, anatomy-focused practices, asana labs and practical application, you’ll learn to see yoga postures through a completely different lens.

I know you have seen it in your students:

  • The same restrictions appearing again and again despite regular practice.
  • Students struggling in shapes that seem accessible to everyone else.
  • Bodies that don’t respond the way the textbook suggests they should.
  • Questions about alignment that feel more complex than a single cue can solve.

This is the next step in developing your confidence as a teacher. Your understanding of movement, anatomy and individual variation will deepen dramatically, allowing you to teach with greater clarity, adaptability and purpose. You’ll learn how to recognise common compensations, understand the demands different postures place upon the body, and make informed decisions that support both performance and longevity.

Rather than teaching from assumptions or idealised versions of postures, you’ll learn to work with the reality of the human body. This training bridges the gap between anatomical knowledge and practical application, helping you create classes that are intelligent, effective and responsive to the unique bodies in front of you.

For the Yoga Teacher or Practitioner who wants to…

  • Move beyond memorising anatomy and develop a practical understanding of how the body moves, adapts and responds within yoga practice.
  • Feel ready to teach with greater confidence, making informed decisions that support both safety and long-term student wellbeing.
  • Better understand why some students thrive in certain shapes while others struggle, and learn how to adapt accordingly.
  • Recognise common movement patterns, compensations and imbalances before they develop into limitations or injuries.
  • Confidently break down postures, understanding what is creating movement, what is providing support and what structures are being challenged or strengthened.
  • Share a more functional approach to yoga that honours anatomical individuality rather than forcing bodies towards idealised shapes.
  • Create more intelligent, purposeful sequences based on movement principles, biomechanics and the needs of the students in front of them.
  • Share anatomy as something you can see, feel and apply immediately, rather than information that stays trapped inside a training manual.

  • Observation skills that help you understand the bodies in front of you

MODULE 2: Breath, Core & Spine: The Internal Architecture of Movement

This is where you’ll explore the systems that create support, stability and ease within movement. You’ll deepen your understanding of the breath, core and spine, and discover how these interconnected systems influence posture, movement quality, balance and overall wellbeing.

Deepen your understanding of:

  • The anatomy and mechanics of breathing
  • The diaphragm and its relationship to movement and stability

  • The science behind why yoga supports physical and mental wellbeing
  • Core function beyond abdominal strength
  • Movement practices that help embody and experience these concepts firsthand

MODULE 3: Hips, Knees & Ankles: The Foundations of Movement

Deepen your understanding of the lower body and the vital role it plays in stability, mobility and efficient movement. Explore how the hips, knees and ankles work together in yoga practice, learning how anatomical differences influence movement patterns, balance and range of motion.

Deepen your understanding of:

  • The anatomy of the hips, knees and ankles
  • How skeletal variation influences common yoga postures
  • The relationship between mobility, stability and joint health
  • Common movement compensations and imbalances within the lower body

  • Supporting healthy movement patterns and injury prevention
  • Practical applications for teaching, adapting and cueing students with confidence

MODULE 4: Shoulders, Elbows & Wrists: Building Strength, Stability & Freedom

Explore the complexity of the upper body and develop a deeper understanding of how the shoulders, elbows and wrists work together in yoga shapes. Learn how to support healthy movement, improve joint function and confidently guide students through both weight-bearing and mobility-focused postures.

Deepen your understanding of:

  • The anatomy of the shoulders, elbows and wrists
  • The relationship between mobility, stability and strength in the upper body
  • Scapular movement and its role in healthy shoulder function
  • Common movement compensations and restrictions within the upper body
  • Weight-bearing postures including Plank, Chaturanga and arm balances
  • Overhead movement patterns and their influence on yoga practice
  • Recognising common sources of discomfort and supporting injury prevention

MODULE 5: The Anatomy of Yoga Postures: From Theory to Practice

You’ll learn how to break down postures through an anatomical lens, understanding the key actions, stabilisers and movement patterns involved in some of yoga’s most commonly taught shapes.

Deepen your understanding of:

  • Forward bends, backbends and twists through an anatomical lens
  • Standing postures and the foundations of efficient movement
  • Arm balances and inversions: understanding strength, stability and control
  • What is stretching, strengthening and stabilising within a posture
  • Recognising common compensations and movement habits
  • Breaking down postures with greater confidence and clarity
  • Using anatomy to make informed teaching decisions
  • Practical asana labs that help bring anatomical concepts to life

MODULE 6: Intelligent Sequencing, Injury Prevention & Teaching Real Bodies

Learning how tobring it all together apply it within real classes. Use anatomy as a practical teaching tool, create intelligent sequences that support movement quality, student wellbeing and long-term sustainability in practice.

Deepen your understanding of:

  • The principles of intelligent and purposeful sequencing
  • Designing classes with anatomy, function and student experience in mind
  • Recognising common movement patterns that may contribute to discomfort or injury
  • Supporting injury prevention through thoughtful class design
  • Adapting postures and sequences for different bodies and abilities
  • Warm-ups, preparation and progressive loading within yoga practice
  • Teaching with confidence when students present with limitations or restrictions
  • Creating anatomy-informed classes that are both effective and accessible

Meet Your Teacher

I’m Caroline, a yoga teacher, anatomy educator and teacher trainer with over 15 years of teaching experience and thousands of hours spent guiding students and teachers through movement, anatomy and embodied practice.

My approach has been shaped through extensive study in anatomy, biomechanics, fascia and yoga education, including training with respected teachers such as Paul Grilley, Jo Phee, Tiffany Cruikshank, Jason Crandell and Noah Maze.

Since 2016, I’ve shared anatomy, Yin Yoga and teacher training modules with teachers around the world, helping them develop the confidence to understand movement more deeply and teach with greater clarity.

My teaching blends functional anatomy, biomechanics and embodied learning, helping teachers bridge the gap between knowledge and application so they can confidently work with the unique bodies in front of them.

What Previous Graduates Say

Changed Perspective Towards Health

“”One of the biggest shifts was learning that there isn’t one perfect way for every body to move. Understanding anatomical variation has transformed how I teach and helped me meet students where they are rather than where I think they should be.” – Ania

Authentic and Knowledgable

“What makes Caroline’s teaching so special is her ability to bridge theory and practice. The information never stays in a manual. You experience it in your own body, understand it intellectually and then immediately know how to apply it in your classes.” – Gemma

Teach with a New Confidence

“Thank you for your course. Thank you for that beautifully curated manual. I’ve been slowly sifting through it. I really love your style and how you taught us to sequence a class. I teach with a new confidence. I cannot wait to grow more. I’d love to study with you more” – Louisa

Great Learning Environment

I loved my time on the Training Course with Caroline. The course was both informative and engaging. Caroline led the group well and had a lot of knowledge to share. The small group setting meant that it was easy to share information between students too and created a great learning environment.” – Kat
