Unwind and Reset Retreat
July 15 to 17, 2022
Join me at this magical venue for my first event in Europe: The Quaives set in the stunning countryside of East Kent. There are 19 acres of open space, half of which is beautifully manicured gardens, with big trees, a secret garden, tennis court, a bridge over a pond, winding paths, lots of flowers and a swinging kissing bench, and the other half is a huge field.
There is something for everyone; yoga, breath work, meditation, yoga nidra and deep relaxation. You will be nourished with gourmet vegetarian meals, a welcoming atmosphere and a feeling of being looked after to the core of your being. We have the most beautiful spaces inside and out to explore, unwind and find yourself again.
We have a luxury outdoor wood fired hot tub surrounded by the gardens and the Kent countryside beyond, where you have the opportunity to go on walks in your free time. For those that feel very energetic there is the tennis court with a couple of rackets and tennis balls for your use.
The practice
A variety of different types of yoga classes will be offered on this retreat to help you find balance and serenity. Designed for all levels and accompanied by carefully chosen playlists as well as the sounds of nature, you will be guided to find your calm and centre again. The types of yoga classes taught on this retreat are:
Vinyasa Yoga.
Be expertly led through creative, playful sequences that have been intelligently put together to develop functional strength, space and confidence. An antidote to modern sedentary lives these classes will have lots of options to choose between to suit what your body needs moment to moment.
Yin Yoga.
Yin yoga works deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses. It targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. This is contrast to a Yang yoga practice such as Vinyasa yoga which targets the muscles. Energetically, Yin yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi in the organs. To be healthy, we need healthy organs as well as healthy muscles. Yin yoga also offers wonderful emotional and mental health benefits.
Restorative Yoga.
This is a nourishing, gentle, and soothing practice allowing you to feel deeply calm and grounded. Deep rest is also such an important aspect of this practice creating a feeling of inner harmony and deep self-compassion. Perfect for beginners and the more experienced who want to slow down and recharge.
Mindfulness Practices.
You will be invited to practise mindfulness throughout your time at the retreat, with an invitation to have a digital detox, practise mindful eating, and weather permitting experience meditation in the beautiful gardens.
